SHARJAH: The Pakistan community in the UAE will soon have mobile registration vehicles for issuance of their National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (Nicop). This was decided during a recent meeting of ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE Jamil Ahmed Khan with chairman of the National Database Regulatory Authority (Nadra) in Islamabad.

Speaking to the chairman, Khan reiterated his resolve to get the maximum facilities for the Pakistani community in the UAE. He stated that the community is full of patriotism, which has been reflected in the desire of the community to send maximum remittances to Pakistan. It may be mentioned here that in the last three months the remittances had amounted to $738 million.

He also thanked the Nadra Chairman for his support in the restructuring of the Consular Section at the Embassy of Pakistan, Abu Dhabi. To further facilitate the community, the ambassador requested the chairman that mobile registration may be implemented at the earliest.

The chairman informed Khan that the Nadra staff would make door-step visits to collect the necessary data of those applicants who are unable to visit the embassy or the consulate. He further highlighted that adding ladies to the staff and commencing double shifts at the Nadra office, UAE, shall prove positive developments for issuance of new cards.

Khan informed the chairman that Pakistani missions in the UAE were working continuously to increase the facilities for the Pakistani community and were trying to provide preferential facilities to mitigate the problems of the community. He applauded the efforts of Nadra and expressed his hope for continuation of co-operation.

  1. Nadra and Embassy staffs are rude to all ages and they have no knowledge about customer service, complete staff should be fired and new fresh and competent staff should be hired. Environment at Embassy office is pathetic. We Pakistani expats in UAE should get better treatment then this.

  2. Mr. Raheel is right in describing how NADRA and specially the Pakistan embassy staff treat their own countrymen. These gentlemen seem to have been taught no work ethics or office decorum. I request Mr. Jamil Ahmad Khan, Pakistans’ ambassador to the UAE to kindly initiate reform and training of the human resource at his disposal. I believe he is a capable and chronometer man and can completely change the out look and performance of embassy personnel.
