Mirpur: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has launched broad-based and integrated free-of-charges home remittances plan in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis including Kashmiris for the swift transfer of remittances to their families dwelling across AJK.

Announcing the launching of the scheme, Senior Executive Vice President/Group chief, Global Home Remittance Group, NBP and Project Chief of the scheme Khalid Bin Shaheen told a news conference at Kashmir Press Club here on Saturday.

He emphasized that the recently-launched schemes to encourage promoting legal remittances through swift means of transfers would lead to strengthening the economy of the country with prime focus to reduce the dependence on the foreign debts obtained from the IMF like global financial institutions.

The scheme would provide massive benefits to the people of AJK, he added.

Senior NBP Officials including Shabaz Ahmed Khan, Wing Head Home Remittance Group, Regional Head NBP Moeen-ud-Din, Mirpur (AJK) Region Ch. Muhammad Salim, General Manager Credit, NBP Mirpur (AJK) region Anwar ul Haq, General Manager Human Resources, NBP Mirpur (AJK), Muhammad Sideeque Butt, Regional Karobar Head NBP Mirpur (AJK) Region were also present at the news conference
