KMC Administrator Sajjad Hussain Abbasi said encroachments in Korangi Mehran Town would be demolished to hand over the plots to their actual owners and for this all such affectees should come up with their written complaints.
On September 7, six of such plots were handed over to the actual owners-the complainants after recovering it from land grabbers, he said this in a statement issued by KMC on Tuesday.
He said Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has a clear policy about this that the land mafia must not be forgiven whether it was government land or private; they have to vacate it under all circumstances.
He said both KMC and KDA Wing of Anti Encroachments were quite activated therefore those who have grabbed the land illegally must themselves vacate it or be prepared to face the losses.
The Administrator said the plots owned by the overseas Pakistanis will be handed over to actual owners for which proceedings were already begun.
This may be noted that staff of KMC Anti Encroachments led by Director Jamil Baloch carried out a special operation in Mehran Town Korangi during which 15 concrete houses which had been built by land mafia on six different pieces of land measuring 240 square yards were demolished in Pakistan Housing Society and the land vacated after this action later was handed over to actual owners.
The Society was established in 1974 for overseas Pakistanis which had been occupied by the land mafia.
Meanwhile following the directive of Administrator Karachi Sajjad Abbasi the Anti-Encroachments department of KMC took action near Ayesha Manzil F.B Area and removed all the encroachments from main road and pavements. The operation was supervised by director anti encroachments Mazhar Khan along with other officers. Pakistan Observer
