Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar on Monday said that

his ministry was working on the formulation of the National Policy for Overseas Pakistanis.

The objective of the policy is to serve the overseas Pakistani brothers better and to streamline various incentives and services provided to them by the government, the minister, who is on an official visit to Germany, said while addressing a gathering of overseas Pakistanis in Stuttgart.

The draft of the policy would be finalised in the next meeting of the OPF Board of Governors that is scheduled to be held in mid of August, says a press release.

In order to ensure participation of overseas Pakistanis in parliamentary process of Pakistan, “we are also working to reserve seats for the overseas Pakistanis in parliament and to grant them the right to vote in the polls,” Dr Farooq Sattar added.

Dr Farooq Sattar said that the overseas Pakistanis were the ambassadors of Pakistan and their role in the economic development of the country was unmatched.

The foreign exchange remittances figure of $8.9 billion in the last financial year is a clear proof of the love of the overseas Pakistanis for their homeland, Dr Farooq Sattar said.

The minister also threw light on the new housing projects being initiated for the overseas Pakistanis by the OPF. Dr Farooq is on an official visit to the United Kingdom and Germany, which he has undertaken upon the invitation of overseas Pakistani community.

During the visit, the minister held extensive meetings with the representatives of Overseas Pakistani Associations and the overseas Kashmiri community and listened to their problems and expressed the resolve to address them.

Housing for Overseas Pakistanis

Dr Farooq Sattar Sb,
With due respect,
Please sattle our issues with CDA.
They have lanuched housing schemes, taken our money but never made house/apartment on the ground. Islamabad CDA I-15 Sector apartments project is a living example of Overseas Pakistanis disoppointment.
Thanks and regards
