Desk to be operational from 8th July 2015
In order to facilitate millions of overseas Pakistanis at the airports, Federal Ombudsman Salman Faruqui will inaugurate second ‘One Window Facilitation Desk’ at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on July 9, Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis at Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat Hafiz Ahsaan Khokhar said on Monday.
The first facilitation desk of this kind has already been established at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad in May this year.
These facilitation desk will be established at all international airports of the country where representatives of 12 government departments including OPF, Bureau of Immigration, Overseas Employment Corporation, FIA, FBR, PIA, CAA, ASF, ANF, Directorate of Passports and Immigration, NADRA and Ministry of Religious Affairs will be present round the clock to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis.
Hafiz Ahsaan said this facility will be extended to Karachi airport in August and will be available at all international airports by September this year. He said the desks will ensure on the spot resolution of complaints of overseas Pakistanis.
Federal Ombudsman Salman Faruqui has urged the staff deputed at the facilitation desks to be courteous, people-friendly and that they must strive to solve the problems of overseas Pakistanis instantly as they are contributing a lot in our national exchequer.
Hafiz Khokhar said that an exclusive website has been set up to handle complaints of overseas Pakistanis at the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat, which is connected with all the relevant government departments. He said that any overseas Pakistani can get his complaint registered online at the www.overseaspakistanis.ombudsman.gov.pk
