Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore will have new projects
Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Pir Sadaruddin Rashidi on Wednesday informed the Senate that nine housing projects have been launched for expatriates and the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation has also planned three new housing projects in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore.
During the Senate session, Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Barjees Tahir said that the construction of Malakand tunnel project would start in June next year. The project would be completed by December 2018 with the financial assistance of South Korea, he said.
Minister for Standards in Higher Education Baligh-ur-Rehman informed the house that the government has allocated 58 billion rupees for the Higher Education Commission, which is the highest amount in country’s history. He said three quarterly releases have been released well in time and the fourth quarter would also be released within the stipulated time.
Standing Committee on Communications Chairman Muhammad Daud Achakzai presented before the House the report of the committee for the period from June 2012 to February 2014. The house will meet today afternoon.
