Multipurpose commercial plaza at OPF Housing Scheme Raiwind Road Lahore will be constructed.
The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) approved construction of a boys hostel at OPF Boys College, H-8/4, Islamabad, in 125th Board of Governors meeting held here on Saturday.
The budget of the organisation for the fiscal year 2014-2015 was also approved on the occasion. The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Pir Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashidi, Federal Secretary Saif Ullah Chattha, OPF Managing Director Iftikhar Babar and all the board members attended the meeting.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of various welfare and development activities being carried out for welfare of overseas Pakistanis and their dependents. It appreciated distribution of financial assistance to all the 681 widows and disabled overseas Pakistanis worth Rs102.5 million. It also acknowledged signing of MOU with Punjab Employer Social Security Institution for provision of medical treatment to overseas Pakistanis at discounted rates in its widespread network of hospitals and dispensaries.
The Board approved to construct a Boys hostel at OPF Boys College, H-8/4, Islamabad, OPF Public School, Gujrat and two additional blocks at Multan and Quetta. The board also approved the proposal for designing of a multipurpose commercial plaza at OPF Housing Scheme, Raiwind Road, Lahore.
The board was informed that Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) will complete its task in five blocks of OPF Valley Housing Scheme, Zone-V Islamabad by 31 July, 2014. The Board appreciated efforts of Managing Director, OPF for his new initiatives and resoling chronic issues of OPF.
