Overseas Commission to appoint focal persons at Punjab airports

Overseas Commission Punjab will appoint focal persons at all international airports of Punjab for the guidance of overseas Pakistanis and PIA will extend complete cooperation in appointing focal persons. This was decided during a meeting with Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Civil Aviation Shujat Azeem and Commissioner Overseas Commission Punjab Afzaal Bhatti in Islamabad. DG Punjab Overseas Commission Kh. Daud and senior officers of PIA were present on the occasion.

Problems relating to overseas Pakistanis at various international airports of Pakistan were discussed during the meeting. Afzaal Bhatti said that Overseas Commission Punjab is taking all possible steps for resolution of problems of overseas Pakistanis and focal persons will be appointed at Rawalpindi, Lahore and Multan airports with the cooperation of PIA for resolving their problems during journey which will provide guidance to overseas Pakistanis at airports.

Shujat Azeem told that PIA and Civil Aviation is launching a service “May I Help You” in place of porter at all international airports of Pakistan who will assist passengers in shifting of their luggage free of cost. Special Assistant on Civil Aviation said that PIA carries dead body of overseas Pakistanis to Pakistan free of cost and ticket is provided on 50 percent concession to the attendant on medical certificate while travelling with patients.
