The Sindh High Court chief justice on Tuesday ordered the establishment of a dedicated cell for the redressal of overseas Pakistanis’ grievances pertaining to fraud, illegal possession and delays in disposal of pending court cases.
According to a circular issued by the high court, the IT director will assist the cell by furnishing copies of e-mails sent by overseas Pakistanis to the Member Inspection Team-II (MIT-II), through the court’s assistant registrar inspection.
The MIT-II will forward all letters, received either through fax, post or e-mail, to the district and session judges concerned.
The applications forwarded will be disposed of within 15 working days and a report of the case will be sent to the MIT-II for perusal by Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar.
The assistant registrars of all judicial branches of the SHC Karachi, the Sukkur bench and the circuit courts of Hyderabad and Larkana have also been directed to identify cases involving overseas Pakistanis and forward their detail to the MIT-II.
