Three new housing schemes in Islamabad

Minister of State for Housing & Works, Barrister Usman Ibrahim chaired a high level meeting of Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) Board of Directors (BoDs) here on Thursday. After a consensus, the Board gave approval in principle to initiate 3 housing projects in different sectors of Islamabad. The board was briefed that these new housing projects will consist of around 1000 housing units and this initiative will be helpful to bridge the housing shortfall in the country. Moreover, these housing units will mainly consist of flats for low-income groups, federal government employees and general public. While keeping the fact in view that PHA has almost completed its project of UET shops in Lahore, BoDs has approved the proposal to construct 8 apartments on these shops and directed the concerned officials to start its design work and other formalities. The Chairman also directed to expedite the remaining works of the stalled projects so that these would be handed over to allottees soon. The meeting was attended by Joint Secretary, Director General Pak-PWD, Director General National Construction Limited (NCL), Director General Federal Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF), Financial Advisor, Deputy Secretary (Admin) and PHA directors.
